Transliteration, transcription, standardization and identification. On digital indexing of manuscripts
Modern digital tools facilitate sharing and indexing manuscripts without rewriting or printing the source. At the same time, they provide easy access to facsimile, even pointing to a specific place on a page (INDXR application). Another option is connecting to records in the database, where other information, e.g. about given settlement, is already stored. This raises the need to consider anew functionalities of different forms of indexing depending on the nature of the source and the method of sharing it. These issues will be discussed on the example of the edition of 15th century legal register and 16th century tax registers available at the atlasfontium.pl website.
The recorded presentation will be made available below and on our YouTube channel.
